The River-Road Social Club was organized January 17, 1944 at the home of Miles Bitting. The purpose of
this organization is to have a home or a club for the returning veterans of this and nearby communities and
anyone else interested  in joining the club providing he is 21 years old
and is accepted by the club and to promote athletics among its members.
Five lots were purchased on Public Road through Mr. William Laubach in September, 1944. Blueprints were made
by Mr. Y..... in July 1945 for the building to be erected on the club property but due to the shortage and
restriction of building material the building could not yet be erected. The members decided to build a
smaller club home for their members use until such times when we could get material to build according to
